Due to the current world economy turmoil, non-profit organizations such as LAJF and GEJF are maneuvering in rough waters. While the LAJF endowment has been negatively impacted by the financial crisis, both LAJF and GEJF also struggle to convince companies and other professional donors to contribute to the continuous running of the three CRS camps in Red Hook, Clinton and Stendis.

As a result of the financial struggles, LAJF has been forces to cancel the 2009 season at both Red Hook and Clinton. The 2009 season in Stendis will in fact take place, but only due to very generous donations from several CRS Alumni.
